We are seeking a visionary and experienced Pharmacy Director to lead and strengthen our pharmacy department and 340B program.

Position Summary

The Pharmacy Director is responsible for the overall strategic leadership, coordination, and daily operations of HCC’s pharmacy services. This includes clinical, operational, and administrative functions, as well as oversight of the 340B program and contract pharmacy arrangements. The Pharmacy Director plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with HRSA and OPA requirements, optimizing cost-effective pharmacy care, and supporting the health and financial sustainability of our services. The role supervises the Pharmacy Manager and reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer (or designee).

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide strategic direction and oversight for all pharmacy services and staff.
  2. Manage and ensure compliance with the 340B Drug Pricing Program.
  3. Collaborate with executive leadership to evaluate and enhance pharmacy services and financial performance.
  4. Maintain and monitor contract pharmacy relationships to align with organizational goals.
  5. Ensure adherence to federal and state regulations, including HRSA and OPA guidelines.
  6. Supervise and support the Pharmacy Manager and department staff.
  7. Promote a culture of excellence, continuous improvement, and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

Required:

  1. Graduation from an accredited pharmacy school.
  2. Active Michigan pharmacy license in good standing.
  3. Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws and regulations.
  4. Minimum 1–5 years of supervisory or related pharmacy experience.
  5. CPR certification (current).
  6. Evidence of ongoing professional development (e.g., CEUs consistent with Michigan licensure).

Preferred:

  1. Experience working with the 340B Drug Pricing Program.
  2. Familiarity with 340B software and EHR systems.
  3. Knowledge of contract pharmacy operations.
  4. ACE 340B Certification.
