We are looking for a seasoned Technical Expert - HPC with a strong background in high-performance computing, storage, and operating systems. The successful candidate will have experience working in a large and complex IT environment, providing industry and government recognized functional expertise. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert-level support and services for high-performance computing (HPC) systems, including configuration, tuning, testing, and advanced level troubleshooting
  • Support and troubleshoot high-performance filesystems such as XFS, GPFS, and Lustre
  • Provide advanced level troubleshooting and support for HPC farm systems and associated applications, including Nagios, xcat, failover software, and compilers
  • Work with distributed computing tools such as RES, LSF, and SLURM
  • Configure, tune, test, and troubleshoot RedHat and SuSe operating systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of HPC systems with other IT systems
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and knowledge bases

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Candidates shall have a Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science or related field, and have at least eight (8) years in a large and complex IT environment providing industry and government recognized functional expertise. Or the individual shall have five (5) years of full lime computer science work that can substitute for the Bachelor's degree, and have at least eight years in a large and complex IT environment providing industry and government recognized functional expertise. A Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field may substitute for two (2) years experience. An industry recognized professional certification may substitute as one year experience.

Candidates must have experience with the following:
  • Configuration, tuning, testing, and advanced level troubleshooting and support of high performance filesystems such as XFS, GPFS and Lustre
  • Advanced level troubleshooting and support ofHPC farm systems and associated applications such as Nagios, xcat, failover software, and compilers
    Working knowledge of HPC MPP systems
  • Configuration, tuning, testing, and advanced level troubleshooting and support of distributed computing tools such as RES, LSF and SLURM.
  • Configuration, tuning, testing, and advanced level troubleshooting of RedHat and SuSe operating systems
  • Must possess at TS/SCI clearance with appropriate polygraph
  • Accepted professional certifications:
    • valid RHCSA or higher Red Hat certification
    • valid VM Ware certification

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $150545 - $263455

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
