  • Individual contributors who provide support services to complete daily business activities (e.g. administrative, clerical, technical, production or trade levels.)
  • The majority of time is spent in the delivery of services or activities, typically under supervision.
  • Opportunities for progression outside of this career track typically require experience, additional education, and/or licensure/certification.

Responsibilities:

  • This job family is responsible for all of the steps involved in getting products from suppliers to customers.
  • Activities include work associated with obtaining goods and services for all types of business processes; finished goods demand inventory planning and production planning & control to achieve targeted quality, wastage, and inventory levels; movement, storage, and inventory control of materials, finished goods, tools, and packaging materials; import/export & customs management.
  • Freight forwarding services roles are included in this job family.
  • Positions in this sub-family are responsible for the storage and movement of materials and finished goods including: shipping & receiving; warehousing; order filling, picking, and packing; executing inventory control processes & records management; dispatch; developing transport schedules, methods, and routes
  • Analyzing and projecting transportation costs; operating low complexity motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment; maintaining, loading, packing, and driving vehicles; evaluating, selecting, and managing ongoing relationships with external transport providers (e.g., fuel suppliers, trucking / shipping companies, etc.); and acquiring and managing fleet vehicles.

Requirements:

  • Overview: Individual contributor that applies broad knowledge of systems and procedures acquired through several years of experience to address issues; may provide guidance to other employees.
  • Purpose: Delivers on day-to-day objectives.
  • Qualifications/ Experience: Work requires broad knowledge of administrative/clerical support services and activities acquired through extensive experience. Typically requires at least 3 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Problem Solving: Tasks and problems are sometimes routine and have slightly complicated solutions.
  • Management & Supervision: Works under moderate or limited supervision with general instructions for new types of work or special assignments.
