Job Description

Summary

Marcal Paper is seeking a Graphic Designer & Creative Producer who can bring our brand vision to life across print, digital, packaging, and video. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented designer who enjoys variety—moving seamlessly from packaging design to digital ads, sell sheets, presentations, and occasional photo/video support. The role provides creative guidance, hands-on design, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver high-quality, consistent, and impactful visuals work that support our business growth and customer engagement.

The ideal candidate is both a strategic thinker and a “doer” able to set the creative tone, manage projects end-to-end, and roll up their sleeves to design everything from spec sheets to digital ads to polished presentations. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact by shaping how our brand shows up across every channel while working alongside a collaborative marketing team and trusted external partners.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Creative Guidance & Execution
  • Ensure alignment with brand standards across all touchpoints.
  • Design and develop a wide range of assets including literature, catalogs, packaging, social media graphics, digital ads, email banners, tradeshow materials, videos, and more.
  • Oversee projects from concept to production, incorporating feedback to deliver polished final assets.
  • Maintain and update brand and co-branded guidelines as needed.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with marketing strategists, fellow creative team members, product managers, sales, and external partners to translate business needs into creative solutions.
  • Work with agencies, printers, and vendors to manage production.
  • Mentor fellow designers and serve as a subject-matter expert for design best practices.
  • Creative Asset Development & Management
  • Produce spec sheets, sell sheets, catalogs and portfolio-based materials for both internal and distributor audiences.
  • Along with the multimedia designer, design social media and trade publication ads, both for Marcal and distributor partners.
  • Support packaging projects, preparing dyelines and graphics for production partners.
  • Develop internal communications, including newsletters and presentations.
  • Manage and organize creative assets within Marcal’s digital library and platforms (e.g., YouTube, Amazon A+ pages).
  • Presentation & Multimedia
  • Create branded PowerPoint templates and visually compelling presentations that communicate complex information clearly.
  • Support internal and external meetings, sales trainings, and customer presentations with strong visual storytelling.
  • Assist with photography, video shooting, editing, and basic motion graphics as needed.
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Contribute to building efficient creative processes, workflows, and asset management systems.
  • Use A/B testing, performance data, and voice-of-customer (VOC) insights to optimize creative.
  • Stay current with design, video, and digital marketing trends to keep Marcal’s visuals fresh and competitive.

Skills & Competencies Required

Required Skills & Experience

  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a mix of print, digital, and presentation design.
  • Experience developing creative for social media platforms and digital ads.
  • Knowledge of print production processes and packaging design basics (dielines, color management, proofing).
  • Advanced PowerPoint skills (master slides, template creation, data visualization).
  • Strong project management skills — able to balance multiple deadlines and stakeholders.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a strong eye for layout, typography, and visual hierarchy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with excellent communication skills.
  • Strong Customer Service focus and ethos
  • Extrovert who enjoys interaction with people, especially sales and related professionals
  • Ability to manage vendors to strict deadlines

Preferred Experiences

  • Video production and editing (Premiere, After Effects).
  • Motion graphics or animation.
  • Photography and image editing.
  • CGI or experience working with CGI partners to create product/packaging renderings.
  • Familiarity with digital asset management platforms (“Bynder”, Widen, etc.).

Essential & Demonstrable Success Factors

  • Bachelor’s or related degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 4–6 years of professional design experience, preferably in corporate marketing, consumer packaged goods (CPG), or B2B environments.
  • A portfolio showcasing strong design skills across both print and digital channels.
  • Hands-on experience supporting sales teams, distributors, or channel partners is highly desirable.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and collaborate across teams.
  • Proven track record of producing creative that delivers measurable results.
  • Team player with strong collaboration and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable managing projects from concept through final production.
