Job Summary

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective distribution of products within the supply chain. This role involves managing logistics, transportation, and warehouse operations to ensure timely delivery and optimal inventory levels. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain management, proven leadership skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Background in Multi Location Distribution, E-Commerce, Oracle NetSuite ERP or Epicor ERP preferred - you will need to travel! Located in Columbus or Cleveland offices

Duties

• Develop and implement strategies for profit & loss management to enhance operational efficiency.
• Oversee process improvement initiatives to streamline operations and reduce costs.
• Utilize lean principles to optimize warehouse and distribution processes.
• Manage transportation planning and logistics, ensuring compliance with regulations and safety standards.
• Supervise warehouse operations, including shipping & receiving, inventory control, and order fulfillment.
• Collaborate with third-party logistics providers (3PL) and non-vessel operating common carriers (NVOCC) to enhance distribution capabilities.
• Lead department level budgeting efforts related to distribution operations
• Implement continuous improvement practices across all areas of the distribution process.
• Utilize, maintain, and upgrade ERP systems for effective supply chain management and inventory management.
• Maintain oversight of fleet management, materials management, and procurement activities.
• Ensure compliance with warehouse management systems (WMS) for efficient operations.
• Provide leadership and supervision to warehouse staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and accountability.
• Lead, Manage, and Hold Accountable employees

Skills

• Strong knowledge of supply chain analytics and logistics principles.
• Proficient in transportation management systems and warehouse management systems such as Oracle or Epicor
• Experience in supervising warehouse teams with a focus on safety and efficiency.
• Familiarity with freight operations, shipping & receiving processes, and inventory control techniques.
• Ability to manage procurement processes effectively while maintaining quality standards.
• Experience in dispatching operations within a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of forklift operations and safety regulations related to warehouse environments.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data for informed decision-making.
