Job Summary

NFMMC is seeking a results-driven and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the medical center’s financial strategy and operations. The CFO reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer and serves as a key member of the executive leadership team.

This role provides oversight of all financial functions including budgeting, general accounting, reimbursement, revenue cycle, grants management, and compliance. The CFO also collaborates closely with department leaders and physicians to support quality patient care through strong fiscal stewardship.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all financial departments including:
• General Accounting, Budgeting, Payroll, Grants & Related Entity Accounting
• Reimbursement, Patient Accounts, Accounts Payable/Receivable
• Health Information Management
• Develop and present monthly financial statements and reports to the CEO and Board
• Coordinate the annual operating and capital budget processes
• Monitor cash flow, financial performance, and budget variances
• Oversee all federal, state, and third-party reporting requirements (Cost Reports, 990, audits, etc.)
• Direct the financial planning, audit preparation, and policy implementation across all departments
• Supervise financial management for grants and hospital-affiliated primary care entities
• Collaborate with external auditors, bank partners, and regulatory agencies

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
• MBA, CPA, or FHFMA designation strongly preferred
• Minimum 5 years of healthcare finance experience in New York State
• At least 3 years in a financial leadership or supervisory role
• In-depth knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement and NYS healthcare finance regulations
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills; able to communicate complex financial data effectively to executive stakeholders

Schedule

• Full-time
• Monday to Friday
• Occasional evenings or weekends based on organizational needs
